Cambridge Sound Management and Biamp

Cambridge Sound Management is now part of Biamp, and its direct-field masking platform is what we specify on almost every project. It is simple to install, easy to zone and easy to adjust as buildings change.

Direct-field, not plenum

Older systems fire loudspeakers upwards into the ceiling void and rely on sound filtering back down, which makes coverage uneven and hard to predict. Direct-field emitters face down into the occupied space, so the sound arriving at desk level is consistent, and far less power and cabling is needed to get there.

Zoned control

Independent zones let a boardroom, an open floor and a reception each sit at their own level and schedule.

Networked configuration

Systems can be configured and adjusted over the network, so level changes after a churn don't need a ladder in every room.

Paging and music on the same network

Announcements and background music can share the emitter network, zoned so they only play where they should.

Scales from one room upwards

The same platform covers a single private office or a whole campus, so later phases match the first.
